Hello Cobblers!
Today in literary history, we celebrate the birth of nationally recognized, & award-winning short stories author, Ann Beattie.
For anyone new to Beattie’s work, I’d recommend checking out her fiction piece in The New Yorker: “Major Maybe.”
If you’re a regular reader of Literary Cobblestones, I’m sure you’re aware that I’m a huge fan of the Paris Review’s author interviews. Here’s Beattie’s interview: “Anne Beattie, The Art of Fiction No. 209.”
Also, check out Beattie’s author page on the publisher’s site, Simon and Schuster: “Ann Beattie: Official Publisher’s Profile.”If you sign up for an email subscription, Simon and Schuster will email you a code for a free e-book. I have no involvement with the publisher, but I like free things, especially the opportunity to explore a writer I’m unfamiliar with by reading one of their books or finding multiple new authors with an anthology or collection.
As always, keep reading.
